Yahoo campaigns requiring shorter ad text starting in May 07
Yesterday Yahoo announced that they are requiring all ad descriptions to be shorter than 70 characters. This means advertisers have to go in and shorten their ads (if they haven’t already) or the too-long ads will be cut off at the 70-char limit.
This could result in truncated ads like these, which end up sounding like search ad Mad Libs:
Printer Ink and Laser Toner Cartridges

or
The All-Natural Diet Pill that Works
Burn fat, lose weight and feel great. Jump start your metabolism by…
Many advertisers already created the new shortened versions of their ads (because YSM offers the option of a 190-char [legacy Overture length] or 70-char Google-esque short ad) when they created Panama accounts.
However, lots of advertisers just had their Overture ads migrated over, without shortening the character count. Those advertisers still probably have some manual tweaking & editing to do. Well, you have about 23 days until May to get this done!
Okay, here comes the commercial part of my post. If you’re one of those advertisers needing to shorten ads AND you have a Google campaign already running (with those short ads), we can help you take your Google ad content and easily migrate it over to your Yahoo account in advance of this change. You won’t have to go and manually edit anything; Google ads are already at the right character count so you’ll just keep those ads in place without editing anything by hand.
