Google Website Optimizer out of beta

I’m a day behind on posting on this, but it is pretty big news for our favorite people (self service marketers.) ;-) Back when we commented on the October 06 beta launch, we suggested that it was a good thing for them so that they could take the whole idea of multivariate landing page testing into their own hands. Well, now you no longer have to be approved as a beta tester, Google has opened the Optimizer to all.

Google is really doing all they can to make AdWords advertisers more efficient & effective. Well, of course! The better an advertiser performs, the more likely they are to spend more money on the AdWords network. Good for the advertiser = good for google.

  1. Erica,

We have been beta testing the Website Optimizer with clients for months and they have seen some amazing results. For those who need a bit of a jump start we published 7 free resources, including a quick start guide and interview with Tom Leung from Google, a webinar and even a wordpress plugin at http://www.grokdotcom.com/googlewebsiteoptimizer

  2. Great post, Erica. As a direct response copywriter I’ve always been a fan of tested advertising. I’m ecstatic that multivariate testing is available online at a great price point (free!). I have written an article on using the Website Optimizer to increase conversion rates. It is available at http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2007/04/increase-conversion-rates-with-the-google-website-optimizer.html.
